Plate XXVIII — Hearts in Bloom (the Orchard Nebula)
$7.49
Observing note
Spring plates are rare in the atlas; this is the one the house is proudest of. The Orchard glows a pale rose under a hydrogen filter and, across a run of April exposures, visibly opens outward like something coming into flower. Drawn with a fence line of faint stars along the base and a note that the whole town turned out to see it.
