Observing note
On consecutive nights of the same wedding weekend our observer recorded this pair in three different configurations, and could not make the measurements agree. The notebook entry is terse: everyone on the floor has an alibi, nobody has an excuse. A winter plate with a fine corridor of faint stars running along the bottom margin, the last of which is drawn deliberately ajar.
