Plate XXX — Written in the Stars (the Traveller's Meridian)

Observing note

Charted from four latitudes on a single long journey, this plate stitches together a line of stars that stays overhead whether you are in a sleeper carriage, a ferry queue or a rented room with a broken shutter. The observer's conclusion, pencilled at the end, is that some routes are drawn before you buy the ticket. Northern summer, though it reaches into the south.
