Plate IV — After Her (the Intermission Binary)

Observing note
Chart the Intermission Binary low in the north-east on a clear August night and you will see what the old observers meant by a goodbye that never quite took. The brighter component drifted a full degree east over a decade — moved cities, as it were — and its companion simply settled into the same field of view, three arc-minutes above. Our observing note reads: do not mistake a pause for an ending; the eclipse always lifts.
