Plate XXXVI — Mistress Daria (the Night Name Binary)

Observing note

Astronomers of the house kept two separate logbooks for this pair, one for the daylight component and one for the star that appears only once the sky is properly dark. The plate reproduces both logs in facing columns and leaves the reader to decide which name is the real one. Best taken in the dry southern summer, from a step outside a door that locks from the other side.
